Learn the basics of flat Peyote Stitch (also called Gourd Stitch), an off-loom bead weaving technique, using glass seed beads, needle and thread. This traditional bead stitch can be worked in rows or circular, with an even or odd number of beads, or using one or more beads at a time. We’ll sample these variations, including increasing and decreasing, providing each student with a solid foundation in this technique. To gain confidence in this popular stitch, we will make a flat cuff-style bracelet in a blended color palette, and explore other ways to use this versatile stitch.
