The basic principle of etching any metal is to apply a substance to the surface of the metal which will resist the 'bite' of the etching solution.
In this class we go through the entire etching process using a salt based etching solution. We will use stamped ink images and hand drawn designs as our resists. We will also explore the use of metal stamps and texturing techniques to further enhance your designs.
Students will have the opportunity to create at least two pendants in class with enough materials to take home and create many more.
