Experience level: Beginner 6 maximum per class Age 14 - up $45.00 (one session class)
Learn the perfect loop wire wrapping technique and how to make simple components, such as spirals, head pins, ear wires and S-clasps. Participants will complete a wire-wrapped bracelet and matching earrings. This is a beginning class and will be the basis for other intermediate and advanced wire wrapping classes. Once you learn the techniques and some helpful tips, you will be making jewelry for every outfit you own or thoughtful handmade gifts for friends and family!
Instructor will provide all copper and brass wire used for class. Limited bead kits available for purchase. Sterling Silver available in limited supply for purchase. Instructor will provide for class use: chasing hammers and anvils, files and beading mats. There will be a very limited supply of pliers and cutters. Students are strongly encouraged to bring their own tools.
Students are encouraged to bring their own beads (round, no smaller than a pea, coin, no bigger than a penny, and square or rectangle, no longer than a nickel). Round nose pliers, Chain nose pliers, wire cutters with smaller pointed tips, ruler and fine point sharpie. All pliers must have smooth surface on the jaws. Serrated jaws are not meant for jewelry.
